Tools Needed:

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Utility Knife
  • (Or – Tin Snips)

Instructions:

Step 1:

To get started you will need to loosen and remove the band clamp using a Phillips screwdriver at the top of the oem fork boot on your CRF230L.

Step 2:

Push up on the bottom of the factory boot. It will take some work as you need to push it up a few inches to get it loose.

Step 3:

At this point take your Utility Knife or Snips to careful cut the factory boot off of the fork. Be careful not to scratch the stanchions. You will now have a bare fork. Please note that you can remove the fork tubes from the triple clamps if you want to remove the factory boots without cutting them.

Step 4:

Take your Zip-On SealSaver with the narrow end towards to the top and zip it onto your fork. You can align the bottom of the SealSaver with the lowest groove in the fork leg. This seams to allow for a great fit and hold it firmly in place. The included zip ties were not used at this time.

Step 5:

Repeat on the other fork leg. Take a step back and admire your handy work.
